Okay this one is out of left field. A movie starring Marc Maron about a pawnshop owner’s dealings with a girl and her friend who inherited a sword claiming to be proof that the south really won the civil war? What in the HAAAIIILL?? I’ve never seen Maron in any roles other than bit parts, but he was very good in this. And the entire movie was FUCKING hilarious!
In a nutshell, Marc and his assistant (Jon Bass) partnered with the two ladies (Michaela Watkins and Jillian Bell) to sell the sword to civil war deniers for a ridiculously high price so they could use it as proof in their world of how the south really won. It’s a crazy plot with quirky characters, terrific acting and very funny dialogue.
Just watch it, any review will only sully this gem. I laughed through the entire movie, and, I didn’t even get high until thirty minutes in. So it wasn’t just the weed! Nine confederate flags out of ten.
