Here is another flick that looked great on paper – this one starred Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill and was written by Seth Rogan. The plot was about aliens taking human form to take over the earth. This had to be good, right? This had to be really funny, right? This Is The End was hilarious – shouldn’t this be similar?
Before I go any further, the other main role in this was played by Richard Ayoade. This was the first time I saw him in anything and he was the only remotely funny character. I will look for him again in other roles.
But back to the original questions, the answers are clear – nope, this movie blew. It had an idiotic plot, idiotic characters, idiotic jokes and idiotic subplots. I think I chuckled maybe four times throughout this entire pile of crap. Very disappointing, especially with this cast and writer.
No need to go into any of the gory details, this movie was awful – I can’t imagine the stars in this one could actually sit through the finished product and think it was the least bit funny. I can only assume they took the money and ran. 1 dick joke out of 20.
