Oh… My… Gawd. There are Nic Cage movies, then there are NICK CAGE movies. This one is the latter. First, make sure you are high as the bejesus when you watch this one and prepare to laugh your arse off. This movie is insane and actually based on a true story. Nic’s uber-hammy performance and ridiculous talking style really make the movie. One of the co-stars – Will Sasso – appears to be stifling a laugh in every scene we see him. I honestly don’t see how anyone could keep a straight face during filming. Russell Brand was the only one who appeared to pull it off. So, what’s it about? A guy – Gary Faulkner – who believed he was on a mission from God to go to Pakistan and capture Osama bin Laden. And he actually gets into Pakistan with a sword and gets arrested. He claims to have gone back several times. In the movie, when President Obama announces they killed bin Laden, God appears to Gary with great skepticism about Obama’s claim, so Gary goes back to Pakistan to find him, flying an American flag hang glider.
No need to go any further – if you like THE GREAT Nic Cage (and who doesn’t) and want to laugh until you have to catch your breath, watch this one. 65 out of 72 virgins in heaven.
